McFarlane’s aren’t steamy storylines, and she does a good job of writing a romance that isn’t just a romance. These new romances tend to focus primarily on the female protagonist and are usually grounded in real life tragedies. The most recent one is by Mhairi McFarlane, and it falls into the New Romance genre that Colleen Hoover occupies. So, since it’s the month of February and my place of employment is under construction, and I am going completely crazy splitting my time working at a very noisy house and a very dusty construction zone, I’ve been binge reading romances for a month.
