Overall, there were parts of this story I really enjoyed. Is he going to watch her grow old and die? It doesn’t feel like a happily ever after to me. I don’t like when paranormal books end like that. She’s human and will remain that way and he’s immortal. The hero was definitely better, but I was left wondering how they’d make a relationship work. I felt like I was constantly rolling my eyes and groaning in frustration at the woman. It was like one stupid thing after another. Then she’s surprised when they don’t really have her. The bad guy calls her and says we have your sister and when she asks to hear her voice they claim she’s unconscious. He gets aggressive and makes her bleed and kisses her against her will, and she still stays with him. She’s on a date with another man and asks him to take her home. She takes pills from a man she just met, then angrily accuses him “you drugged me.” I don’t know if it counts as him secretly drugging you when he hands you pills and you voluntarily swallow them. The heroine was like one of those women in horror movies that we yell at because she does the most stupid things. I thought this was a cute read, but parts of it annoyed me.
